Overview

Our Diagnostics and Imaging services are the largest and most up-to-date in the UK private sector. These services are offered throughout The Wellington Hospital, with outpatient services based at The Wellington Diagnostics and Outpatients Centre (Golders Green) and at the newly opened Platinum Medical Centre. The diagnostics and imaging services for inpatients are available in the South & North building.

We have a full range of state-of-the-art equipment including a 64-slice CT scanner, four MRI scanners, and a full range of X-Ray machines using a Computed Radiography (CR) system, Ultrasound equipment and Interventional Radiology facilities.

All services are stored using a Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) which allows Consultants to view images anywhere in the hospital on a computer terminal.

We are constantly working to improve and expand our facilities so that we can deliver outstanding imaging services which help to greatly speed up the time from diagnosis to treatment.

Run by a highly experienced team of professionals, The Wellington has over 20 consultant radiologists, many of whom hold senior positions in some of London's most renowned teaching hospitals. Our team of Radiographers liaise closely with our Radiologists to ensure that each examination is perfectly tailored to the patient’s and referrer’s specific requirements. Our specialists are supported by highly qualified nurses and administrators who prepare reports of each diagnostic investigation.

This year we opened The Platinum Medical Centre – the UK’s biggest private diagnostic and outpatient centre. Based in St John’s Wood, a short distance from Harley Street, the centre houses an extensive diagnostic and imaging unit with PET/CT and two of the latest MRI scanners with the capacity to for cardiac MRIs, together with the full range of X-Ray, and ultrasound.
