For some people the prospect of undergoing major surgery to control their weight can be very daunting and so The Wellington Hospital can also offer a non-surgical alternative - the Intragastric Balloon programme. This endoscopic procedure, carried out by a senior consultant Dr Ray Shidrawi, takes a matter of minutes under local anaesthetic.
Our senior consultants work closely with our dieticians to help patients adjust their diet appropriately and to monitor weight loss.
