The Wellington Dizziness and Balance Service: Assessing and diagnosing balance and vestibular disorders

North Building , Circus Road, St John's Wood , London, NW8 9SG

Why choose us?

Our Dizziness and Balance Service at The Wellington Hospital offers comprehensive assessment by a team of specialist consultants, audiologists and physiotherapists.

We use state-of-the-art diagnostic technology to test for balance and vestibular disorders. The vestibular system is the parts of the inner ear and brain that are involved with controlling balance, eye movements and spatial orientation.

Balance and vestibular symptoms include:

  • dizziness
  • instability
  • vertigo
  • light headedness
  • falls
  • nausea

There are many reasons why someone may suffer with these symptoms. We aim to diagnose dizziness or balance disorders and provide appropriate rehabilitation support.

Vestibular conditions

The vestibular system includes part of the inner ear and brain that help control your balance. Balance disorders can strike at any age, but are more common as you get older.

You'll have a detailed consultation with one of our consultants to assess and diagnose your condition. You may then be referred for further balance tests and rehabilitation.

Our team of therapists who specialise in balance and dizziness will use a number of situations to assess your balance, triggers for dizziness and your frequency of dizziness.
