On Tuesday 20th June we opened our brand new outpatients and diagnostics centre in Elstree.

World-class orthopaedic, paediatric, gastroenterology, gynaecology and cardiology care are just some of the new healthcare services that are provided locally at our new purpose-built health centre. Located at The Waterfront on Elstree Road, the new centre provides local access to cutting edge facilities from London’s top consultants.

The ribbon was cut at 10.00am by our Chief Executive Sarah Fisher, who was joined by Janet McCain, Director of Outpatient Services and Susie Paton, Centre Manager at Elstree.

This beautiful centre is part of The Wellington Hospital campus, bringing leading specialists from The Wellington Hospital in London, to provide specialist care in a more convenient location for patients in North London and Hertfordshire.

Services provided include consultations and treatments across a wide number of different specialties including cardiology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, spinal surgery and sports & exercise medicine.

A £6 million investment has provided the latest technology to support consultants in providing the highest level of care. The modern facility has specialist diagnostic services including 3T MRI, X-ray and ultrasound equipment. Pathology services are also available on-site, providing patients with quick results for rapid diagnosis.

Our Chief Executive Officer Sarah Fisher gave a welcome speech saying:

“We are very proud to be expanding The Wellington Hospital’s campus in St John’s Wood to Elstree, which represents an important milestone for local health and care services in North London and Hertfordshire. Local neighbourhoods will be able to count on us as a local care provider that offers convenient access to a modern facility led by some of the country’s leading consultants.”

Mr Andrew Goldberg, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, who lives close to Elstree, said:

“The modern facilities and equipment on offer at the new centre represent a step-change in service provision in the area. As a local resident living in Radlett it’s an exciting prospect and I’m looking forward to bringing some of my services from The Wellington Hospital to treat local patients in Elstree.”
