We offer a large number of different treatments and surgical procedures for different health problems. To help make some of our more common treatments more accessible, we guarantee to fix the price of your treatment prior to it taking place, which means there will be no unexpected bills if for clinical reasons you need to stay longer.
The price we guarantee covers all costs related to your surgical admission including:
- Pre-operative assessment
- Hospital fees (nursing, accommodation, food)
- Surgeons fees
- Anaesthetist fees
- The price of any standard prosthesis, if required
- Physio during your stay, if required
- Take home medication, stitches and dressing changes
- A follow-up consultation, if required

The Wellington will be holding two open evenings in July to talk about Women's Health and Foot & Ankle conditions.
The first event will take place on the 20th July at The Wellington Hospital.
The second on the 26th July will be held at our new outpatient and diagnostics centre in Elstree.
A Consultant will be available at each event to discuss all aspects of your care and treatment.

Wellington Self Pay Care
If for any reason we are not able to offer a fixed price for your treatment, The Wellington Hospital will offer an alternative Self Pay Care package so you can still access treatment without delay. Self Pay Care packages are offered at the discretion of the hospital. If we are not able to offer you a Self Pay Care package, the hospital will offer you an alternative payment option.
Please be aware treatment under Self Pay Care is dependent on a pre-assessment, after which you will be sent an offer letter detailing exactly what is included in your Self Pay Care package.
If you decide to go ahead with treatment under this scheme, we then ask for your payment on or before admission. Generally, you will then only be asked to pay for personal expenses such as telephone calls whilst you are in hospital. These will be charged to your account for payment before leaving the hospital.
The HCA Self Pay team will work with you to refer your information to the hospital for a Self Pay Care quote where appropriate. For Self Pay Care the initial consultation fee is set by your consultant. Our Self Pay team can provide you with an estimate of the consultant fees and once booked the secretary will confirm the fee. The cost of the consultation is payable on the day of your appointment.
Imaging Services and Outpatient Tests
To help confirm your diagnosis or to investigate your medical condition further your consultant may refer you for diagnostic scans or for additional tests after your initial consultation. The consultant will advise you of the scans or tests required and an estimate of the cost can be obtained from our self pay team.
In our Self Pay Care range we have over 600 procedures where we can give you a guide price, at the outset, of how much your hospital treatment will cost - this guide price will include accommodation, nursing, theatre fees, approximate surgeon and anaesthetist fees, drugs and dressings.
The quote for your treatment will be determined by the procedure your consultant has planned for you and will provide a procedure code (OPCS/CCSD).
