Leaders in Oncology Care (LOC) was founded in 2005 and established at 95 & 97 Harley Street to provide the highest standards in cancer care. The LOC model created ‘doctors in chambers’: a group of clinicians with the same speciality who combined their skills to provide a better service for patients. This once novel model is now well proven and after five years has been emulated by doctors working in other specialities.
The vision of LOC is to develop this service further, making the same high level of service and care available to patients wherever there is a need.
The very same standards of care and patient support, as LOC's flagship clinic in Harley Street, will be provided – using all current systems to ensure the LOCs commitment to excellence is replicated. The furnishings, treatment ‘pods’ and ambience have all been lovingly recreated to commit to LOCs ethos. This also provides an environment to make existing LOC patients feel right at home.

Diagnostic tests and procedures are carried out to determine a diagnosis of cancer. Before you visit the LOC you may have already undergone some diagnostic testing.
There are a wide range of diagnostics tests, many of which are used in combination to accurately determine; the presence of cancer, the type and location of cancer and extent and stage of disease.
This detailed identification allows your consultant to develop your personalised treatment plan. Some of the most common diagnostic tests and procedures which we use include:
Within minutes of having any of these tests in our neighbouring facilities, the results are sent electronically to your LOC consultant. They are able to view items such as scans and the radiologist’s report on their own computer almost instantly.
Diagnostics are not only carried out before you begin treatment, they play a vital role throughout your cancer journey. These tests are also used to monitor tumour size, disease progression and response to treatment. This allows your consultant to keep track of your progress and modify your treatment plan accordingly. Once your treatment has completed, we may continue use diagnostic tests in your regular follow up appointments.
Cancer treatment is delivered to you in the treatment suite. Treatments can range from an infusion over several hours to a single short injection.
During your time in the treatment suite you will receive constant care and attention from our highly skilled nurses and on site doctors. The individual treatment areas, known as patient ‘pods’ can comfortably accommodate patients and up to 2 visitors. Private treatment rooms are also available and can be allocated for patients depending on individual needs.
We want to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible during your treatment visit and have equipped every patient pod and treatment room with comfortable reclining chairs, a personal TV screen, free wifi and a catering service.
You will also be offered complementary therapies such as reflexology and massage to help you relax during your treatment.
We have onsite laboratories at Lodge Road which are equipped with the most advanced technology for blood test and microbiology analysis.
Blood tests are important in the initial diagnosis of cancer, for monitoring how you are responding to treatment and to determine your overall health.
